Dynamic Stretching

Current research suggests that stretching of muscle which has warmed up and has increased blood flow is more affective conditioning prior to more intensive exercise. There is further evidence that excessive stretching of cold muscle can cause structural loss of integrity to the muscle tendon junction and tendon enthesis. Better muscle tendon conditioning can be achieved with lower force combined concentric eccentric drills rather than forced repeated muscle stretch.

Muscle conditioning requires a graduated programme, avoiding force and combining resistance exercise drills.
